| Decent Energy, Inc., has been informed that EnergyWorks KC (EWKC) will be providing certain additional rebates to incent energy efficiency improvements to commercial buildings within Kansas City, MO. The enhanced rebate is only available to buildings located within Kansas City, MO. Program eligiblity requirements apply.
EWKC is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy under its Better Buildings grant progam. Our understanding is that through EWKC the City of Kansas City Missouri plans to enhance roughly four hundred fifty (450) commercial energy efficiency improvement projects.
The EWKC Commercial program provides a rebate towards implementation of recommended improvements, a low cost implementation loan (of up to $15,000), and a rebate for the commercial assessment (audit). In the right situations, implementing the recommended package of improvements can be cash flow positive when all of the rebates, financing and savings are taken into account.
Decent Energy, Inc. provides commercial energy assessments which can help guide energy efficiency improvement plans under the rebate program. Here is a program slide that depicts the rebate components of the program:

Note that the reference to "TBD" under the KCPL column means that the available rebate needs to be determined on an account specific basis. The KCPL Commercial and Industrial Rebates that may apply are already set as a function of the tarrif that KCPL has filed with the Missouri Public Service Commission.
For more information on the status of the EWKC Commercial program, rebates, loan, and fit with the utility rebates already in place please contact us.
